Ahead of the release of Bruno Mars’s first album ‘Doo Wops and Hooligans‘ in 2011 we created a Facebook widget in Flash which gave users the opportunity to preview tracks from the album.
To help spread the word users needed to ‘Like‘ the Facebook tab before they could preview any of her music which in turn highlighted the widget to their friends. Once this was done they could then listen to the first 6 tracks. In order to listen to the second half of the album they needed to ‘Share’ the link on Facebook. Once this was done all 12 tracks could be previewed. Each track was served up as a secure stream to prevent any unauthorised ripping or downloading of the music.
